We will sit down with you and discuss your tattoo idea- Weather you are a walk-in client or looking for a custom cover up we appreciate the time it took you to to choose us and come in and discuss your tattoo ideas. This why our in person consultations are FREE. We take the time to listen to your vision and ask you all the questions in regard to your design. We want to get a clear picture of what your are looking for in regard to style , colour , black and grey etc., and where you want it on the body ( yes, where on the body matters to design). We will often photograph where it is going on the body , AND take a mapping of it especially if its an addition /cover-up. This is the opportunity for you to ask us any questions you may have in regard to time commitment, best healing practices, pain management, and our shops’ policies. We understand that allot of thought can go into what you would like for a tattoo BEFORE you enter the shops doors. Keeping that in mind, the outcome of your tattoo matters to us as much as it does to you. This is an investment of your precious time and money, and they are permanent - lasting a lifetime. This is why we take our time to create the best drawing/design possible and take as long as we need tattooing you to ensure the best overall results. Rushing your tattoo and cutting corners just is not in our vocabulary. Regardless if your tattoo is done in a day or over the course of a few years , clear communication between the artist and the client make for the BEST tattoos!

We take pride in our custom designs as well the predesigned flash. Predesigned flash are designs that our artists post to provide you with examples of what they like to tattoo and are capable of creating and putting on you for life.

We are proud to use our art to support causes that matter, strengthening our local community one tattoo at a time.

Annual Tattoo Fundraiser for SCARS

Every year, we dedicate our time and talent to support the Second Chance Animal Rescue Society (SCARS). As one of the largest animal rescues in northern Alberta, SCARS takes on the most challenging cases, giving deserving animals a new lease on life. This vital work comes with significant costs, particularly for veterinary care, and relies on consistent community donations.

Our partnership with SCARS is a cause close to our hearts. Since 2023, the Heart & Dagger Tattoo team and our incredible clients have raised nearly $25,000 for the animals in their care.

The Main Event

Mark your calendars! Our biggest fundraising event of the year takes place on the first weekend of October. This year, join us on Saturday, October 3, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

• What: Get a $125 tattoo from our custom flash sheets.

• Why: 100% of the proceeds go directly to SCARS.

• Who: Our artists donate their time and skills for the entire day. They are paid only through the generous cash tips from you!

How to Participate in the October Event

This event is incredibly popular, so we have a system to make it run as smoothly as possible.

• Sign-Up Day: Booking for the October fundraiser opens on September 3 at 11 a.m. sharp.

• How to Book: Call the shop to secure your spot. Phone lines get very busy, so please keep trying if you don't get through immediately.

• Be Prepared: Before you call, please have your design and its placement (arms and legs only) already chosen. You can find many available designs in our shop’s, or Connie’sInstagram page. We cannot book your appointment without this information.

• Group Bookings: To ensure fairness and manage scheduling, we can book a maximum of three appointments at once.

We prepare all stencils ahead of time to make the day efficient while maintaining our standard of quality. We appreciate your patience on the day of the event, as we sometimes run a bit behind while working to help as many people as possible.

50/50 Fundraiser: Support SCARS All Year

Can't make it to the main event? You can still support SCARS! From January to July, Connie offers 50/50 fundraising tattoos by appointment. With this option, 50% of your tattoo cost is donated directly to SCARS. It’s a fantastic way to contribute on a schedule that works for you.

The DAYS Program: A Tattoo for Hope and Remembrance

Inspired by a powerful story of love and remembrance, we have launched the DAYS program at Heart & Dagger. The story was about a mother who got a tattoo of the number of sober days her daughter had, choosing to remember those days instead of the one that ended in tragedy.

So many of us have been touched by a loved one's struggle with addiction or severe mental health challenges. The DAYS program is our way of showing support, acknowledging your journey, and helping you commemorate the days that matter.

Whether it’s your number or a loved one’s, we will tattoo it for you, free of charge. When you book your appointment with any of our artists, just mention that you are coming in for your DAYS tattoo. We see you, we support you, and we are honoured to help you remember.
